Gravitational waves: the invisible messengers of the Universe

Gideon Koekoek, assistant professor of gravitational physics

Since Einstein, we know that they exist and for some years now we can measure them: gravitational waves, the invisible messengers of the Universe. Koekoek explains how we can measure them with the LIGO- and Virgo detectors, and how these measurements have already solved many mysteries.
