The power of law for addressing climate change

Law provides many opportunities for achieving a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. All over the world, a flood of cases have been brought to court that aim to enforce governments and companies to apply stricter emission measures. The history books in subsequent centuries will explain whether it was ‘juristocracy’ or democracy that ensured (we hope) the necessary reduction in emissions in our society.
