Ruthenium Based Anti-Cancer Agents

Burgert Blom, PhD, assistant professor of inorganic chemistry and catalysis

Cancer is a deadly disease, which affects the lives of millions of people worldwide. At the Maastricht Science Programme (MSP) we use research based learning (RBL) extensively for undergraduate students within our programme. This has proven not only to be an exceptional didactic tool for teaching chemistry research, but has produced exciting publishable research work in the context of novel anti-cancer agents based on ruthenium.
